Pluto 27-1R Drilling/Testing Results
The Pluto 27-1R well was drilled in Sept/Oct/Nov of 2014 and took 37 days. In April of 2015 three targeted zones were perforated and tested. The well which kicked off from the bottom of the casing at 4300 feet in the original well reached the targeted destination at around ¼ mile to the west of the original well bore at a depth of around 8300 feet. Unfortunately the geology did not come in as predicted. The Joana limestone and Guilmettte were not reached. We tested three zones in the Chainman shale and the sands above it. We were unable to recover fluid from the Chainman but did make recoveries from the upper sands that had a small layer of condensate in the sample jars we were able to light and burn off. Further field work along with the drilling logs indicate that the structure is likely to be different than originally mapped, and that the targeted Joana and Guilmette could be reached by drilling about a quarter to ½ mile to the east. The remapped structure could theoretically still be a 50 to 80 million target if we were to find production both in the Joana and the deeper Devonian Guilmette.
After a two year process SAM Oil was able to re-lease in December of 2017 what we believe could be a valid prospective target. We plan to do more evaluation work on this acreage before making any decisions on a path forward.
